Care staff

Youth justice professionals

On the course there will be opportunities to explore these key ideas in much greater depth with lively and varied activities. Our training style itself is based on what we like to call ‘restorative pedagogy – an approach to teaching and learning that encouragers adults to be exemplars of sound restorative practice, and therefore good role models for young people to learn from.

b) Introduction to working in Circles

On the course there will be opportunities to experience taking part in a variety of circle activities, as a means to build a sense of team and belonging, to learn how a group can take responsibility for the way it interracts and for problem-solving and discussion.

Course participants will receive:

  • Their logbook to record the training they receive and records of their practice (this will help towards a portfolio of evidence for accreditation)
  • Two small booklets to take away at the end of this first Module
  • An Introduction to Restorative Approaches Working in Circles
  • School staff will also have a short introductory film. We hope to produce other sector specific films in due course.
